Potluck!

This was the potluck that followed the week after our cheese tasting. The event was rather hurried and we were worried about having enough food for everyone... But lots of members came out and brought their own dishes that they made and left us all with more food than we can handle!

So we pretty much just sat there and ate, exchanged recipes, ate some more, chatted, and ate even more.

We had a pretty good selection for our first potluck event!
Some salad and kung pao chicken (that looked sorrier than it tasted. It was good I promise!)

Chris' roast chicken that just blew us away

Not all the food was out yet; way more to come!

The fruit dip was amazing

More shots of people eating
I would attach more and higher quality pictures, but this is it for now. Thanks to all of those who cooked and those who came out and helped as sous chefs! Next post will detail the knife workshop that we had  with an actual chef (big shout out to Jaime out there), and this week we will be holding our first specialty workshop! Remember to sign up with Chris since there is limited space available, and stay tuned for more food adventures!

First Cheese Tasting!

All the cheese!

One of the winner combinations: raspberry jam, sheep's milk cheese, and walnut on a cracker.

Double cream brie with blackberry, walnut and salami on cracker.

Irene made Gruyere cheese puffs for us!

Belated as it is, these are the photos from our cheese tasting last week!

The types of cheese were Denmark cow's milk blue cheese, espresso bean-crusted hard cow's milk cheese, herb sheep's milk cheese, random goat cheese (sorry) and double cream brie cheese. Crackers, walnuts, almonds, raspberry jam, blackberries and salamis were served along with the cheese. We were too eager to test things out and so didn't get a shot of everything before it was all cut up (hence the mess depicted in the pictures). But overall it was an interesting and satisfying feast that challenged our taste buds and stomach capacity.

Much more tastings are sure to come! Beer, wine, coffee, and tea (nom). Please check us out and don't miss out on the tastings that you're interested in!

Goodnight fellow Bruins!
